Featured in this lot is a Navajo Diné Joan Douglas Sterling Silver and Multistone Inlay Cuff Bracelet. The bracelet features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver and multistone construction. The bracelet shows wonderfully geometric patterns of cabochons set into the bracelet face and shows stones Spiny Oyster, Jet, Turquoise. The bracelet face features braided silver rope and silver beads accents. Joan Douglas is a recognized Navajo artisan known for her detailed Southwestern jewelry, particularly inlay work using turquoise, onyx, and opal set in sterling silver, creating traditional mosaic designs on rings and bracelets. Her distinctive inlay style is popular in the Southwestern market. While the Zuni are famous for delicate inlay, Navajo work often features bold, substantial pieces, with artists meticulously shaping each stone for a flush, flush surface or sometimes creating raised "cobblestone" effects. The bracelet is stamped on the underside of the bracelet, 'J. Douglas' and 'STERLING'. The overall condition of this Navajo bracelet is good with no obvious signs of damage. Measures 7" circumference including the 1.25" opening. Collective weight is 41.3gms.
