Featured in this lot is this Navajo etched Kachina Sgraffitto terracotta pottery vase, signed by Navajo artist R. John. Sgraffitto is a process of painting the clay while it is still soft and scoring lines with carving tools, becoming part of the design. This vase shows a kachina etching with a red cedar color stain to the decoration. The condition of this vase is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this vase are 6" x 5 3/4" x 2 1/2".
