For your bidding pleasure is this Navajo Native American Yeibichai fine wool rug circa 1960's. The rug features two female Yei figures on a beige field. In these weavings the male Yei figures have round heads & the female Yei figures have square heads. Yei are religious deities taken from the Navajo Sand paintings. These weavings show a pictorial composition but do not have any religious significance. The figures are dressed in matching black skirts with red accents. The Yei women figurines are seen wearing earrings and necklaces. Surrounding the figurines we see vibrant green plants with red buds at the top. This rug has an excellent tight weave and vivid colors. This piece is in excellent condition and measures 16" X 24".
