The lot features an outstanding solid sterling silver and turquoise box by Randy Begay Jr., a master Navajo Indian Silversmith. This is one of only two boxes that Randy Begay Jr. has ever made and is truly a phenomenal authentic Navajo piece. The box is nicely stamped on the bottom, “RB JR” and “Sterling” and the piece shows a heavy gauge sterling silver construction with immensely detailed highly figure repousse (hammered into relief from the reverse side), with a hinged lid showing a hinged lock and four small feet. The box has unbelievable detail and is finished with a large bezel set polished cabochon of Lone Mountain Mine Turquoise with fine grade spider web matrix and bright blue coloring. The bottom of the box shows four concho tooled feet and the entire box is in brand new, pristine condition. This is truly only one of two authentic Navajo sterling silver boxes being of a fine contemporary age on the market. Measures overall 4.75”x4”x3.5”. Weights 258 grams of sterling silver.
