Presented in this lot are Navajo Diné Randy Begay Jr. Sterling Silver Turquoise and Branch Coral Chip Inlay Cuff Bracelet. The cuff bracelet features a wonderfully and professionally crafted stamped sterling silver featuring the traditional Navajo cultural symbol of bisons with turquoise and branch coral chip inlay and stamped geometric designs. The Begay family includes several prominent Navajo silversmiths renowned for chip inlay work featuring turquoise and coral. Chip inlay, a technique where channels are filled with crushed stone and resin then polished smooth, was popularized in the 1970s and remains a classic Navajo style. Navajo Randy Begay Jr. is a highly respected, master Navajo silversmith, with his distinct hallmark "RBJR Sterling" appearing on collectible pieces like squash blossoms, bracelets, and unique items like a silver-clad knife. He's recognized as a significant contemporary Native American artist whose work is sought after by serious collectors. The artist's hallmark is stamped on the reverse, "RBJR Sterling". The bracelet is in beautiful condition. Measures 6.5" inside circumference including the 1.25" opening, .625"W x 2.375"L x 1.75"D, weight is 20.3 grams.
