The lot features a fantastic silver box by J. Alexander with the amazing finish and styling that resembles the Navajo stamp work of the early 1900’s. The box is in brand new condition with the iconic polished vintage finish giving it a fine ages appearance as if the piece had passed thru a trading post at some point. At the top shows a nice size polished cabochon of Morenci mine turquoise showing a rich bright blue coloring with pyrite matrix being bezel set in the silver. The top of the box has a nice curved finish with heavy stamping and is hinged to reveal a soft black lined fabric inside. The outside of the box has similar heavy stamped finish and shelf to match the extended lid and is finished by three round concho like feet. The base is heavily stamped, “J. ALEXANDER” along with a tipi hallmark. The piece has a heavy construction and is crafted of silver, likely an Alpaca Silver with an antique finish. Measures overall 4.25”W by 3.25”D by 2.5”H when the lid is closed.
