Featured in this lot is this Sgraffito olla pottery vessel circa 1960-1970's. The vessel is wonderfully and professionally crafted ceramic construction that shows wonderful polychrome decoration with incised decoration that shows a sgraffito design. Susie Charlie is the pioneer of this style of ceramic decoration that combines the contemporary with traditional ways. The contemporary being in the viual, colorful and modern design. The traditional uses clay which she and her family gather in the local Navajo Reservation canyons. The pottery vessel is marked on the bottom as follows: Navajo - Susie Charlie. The condition of this pottery vessel is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this pottery vessel is 3 7/8" x 5" x 5". The collective weight of this pottery vessel is 14oz.
