Featured in this lot is this very nice Navajo Toadlena/ Two Grey Hills hand woven wool rug. The Toadlena/ Two Grey Hills trading post is located in northwest New Mexico, northeast of the Crystal area. It was at this trading post that the style had its genesis and from this trading post, it derives its name. The Style was started there by George Bloomfield and Ed Davis in 1914. Toadlena/ Two Grey Hills rugs are characterized by natural browns, tan, gray, ivory, white, and black. They typically have a central diamond motif surrounded by other intricate patterns. This rug features a large medallion centered in this rug with a black border and light brown decorations set to a grey field. The condition of this rug is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this rug are 32" x 20".
