Featured in this lot is this Newsboy 19th century cabinet card actress collection; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are a total of three cabinet cards that shows the likeness of three actresses from that Victorian time period. The first is a portrait of Lillian Russel; Lillian Russell (born Helen Louise Leonard; December 4, 1860 or 1861[1] – June 6, 1922) was an American actress and singer. She became one of the most famous actresses and singers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, praised for her beauty and style, as well as for her voice and stage presence. The second cabinet card is of Lillian Grubb standing in pose ; In the late 19th century, celebrity publicity escalated due to the development of modern photographic processes and the overland telegraph and theater soon became a popular diversion throughout California, contributing to the boom in the film industry in the 1920s. The last is of an obscure actress named Anna Boyd posing with a shawl and wearing under clothes. The condition of this collection of Newsboy cabinet cards is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows some slight browning to the cards consistent with the age.
