The lot features an Indian hide beadwork pipe tobacco bag attributed to the styling of the Northern Cheyenne Native American Indians. The bag shows an Indian tanned buckskin hide with glass trade seed beadwork in a traditional geometric Northern Cheyenne tab pattern with colors of greasy white, greasy blue, and corn yellow. The beadwork is trade thread sewn. The top shows an Indian hide tie strap, and the bottom has Indian hide long fringes. The bag is supple and well preserved, with little to no bead loss. Overall, it measures 23” L by 5.5” W. This piece has a fantastic 1800’s pattern and quality with unknown, likely late, age yet displays well.
