The lot features an excellent 19th Century bowie fighting or hunting knife from the Northern Plains Native American Indians. The knife shows a drop point hunting or fighting knife blade being a unique full tang with the tang being forged with integral hilt hand guards with the Elk horn antler being carved to follow this giving a nice hand guard. The handle shows a two-piece Elk horn antler grip held together with three copper rivets and having an excellent yellow’d coloring from honest age and use, a truly fine patina. The knife is well made and would have been worn on the belt of a Warrior during the 1800’s. Measures overall 10.75”L overall with a 6”L blade.
