Offered in this lot is a Vintage Norwegian Framed Folk Art Cross Stitch Wall Hanging, circa 1970s. The wall hanging is of a Norwegian bridal procession with the bride and groom on horseback led by a fiddler with friends dancing behind. The wedding party is dressed in traditional bunads. At a traditional Norwegian Wedding Procession, fiddle players would lead the way with the bride and groom close behind. Everyone had to make sure they would be in the right place in the procession. The bride is wearing a brudebrunad, bride brunad, and a bridal crown typical for Hardanger, a traditional district in the western part of Norway, dominated by the Hardangerfjord and its inner branches of the Sørfjorden and the Eid Fjord. This is a lovely folk art piece from Norway, and is in good overall condition. The slender wood frame exhibits slight scuffing. Measures 13.5"W x 41"L x .75"D .
