This is an excellent, handwoven, flat weave rug by master weaver Mito Ruiz. It was made using 100% soft, fine, handspun Angora Wool in an amazing Connected Diamonds pattern. The rug was handwoven into a tight weave using 100% locally handspun, Angora Wool blend yarn that offers natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. The tight handwoven weave displays the bold colors in the fine Connected Diamonds pattern of the time-honored Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Mito Ruiz. This bold and beautiful rug shows a fantastic Navajo Trading Post, Old Crystal J.B. Moore Pattern styling with a heathered brown/tan background, two diamond medallions in heathered grey, stepped red border, and a second black, brown, and red stepped diamond with dientes accents. The outside edge of the blanket shows a four layer border in tan, red, and black with a stepped fancy finish. The piece is in brand new condition with a fine, tight weave. The nice, large rug measures 5’ by 8’ (5 foot by 8 foot). This is a contemporary rug, hand woven by Mito Ruiz, a Zapotec Indian from a small weaving village, in amazing natural dyes and wool.
