The lot features a beautiful old vintage bolo tie in sterling silver by Navajo silversmith Hasteen. The piece is hallmark stamped "A (or H) HASTEEN / STERLING" and shows a heavy hand worked sterling silver construction with classic design and dates to the circa 1960-1970's. The piece shows three polished cabochons of Morenci Mine Turquoise showing a rich gem quality blue with matrix of pyrite. The front of the bolo tie shows a crown like sunburt overlay at the top and bottom as well as two leaf or feather like sections shadow boxing the center stone. Around the stone is a border of rope silver as well as several varying size large to small spots of sterling and a large border with fine cut edge finish. The piece is in a braided black leather classic strand and shows two handmade sterling silver tips shows tapering cones with stamped sunburst work at the top and handmade disc concho / concha ends. This is truly a wonderful piece with nice age and a nice stamping. The Hasteen name is well revered in the Navajo silversmith world with some fantastic work and highly collected pieces from such relatives as Tom Hasteen. The bolo overall measures 20.75"L (total length of strand being 41.5"L), bolo itself is 2.75" by 2" and the tips are 2.25"L each.
