Featured in this lot is this opulent tanzanite diamond and 18k white gold ring with AIG paperwork. The ring shows wonderfully and professionally crafted 18k white gold construction with split shoulders and a lattice under gallery showing a 'UCG' hallmark with a 18k gold stamp next to the hallmark. The center stone is a prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite gemstone that measures 15.70 x 11.70 x 8.60mm and shows an approximate weight of 12.01ct and shows eye clean clarity and considered type I with medium dark slightly grayish with violetish blue coloration and a good cut grade. The stone transmits light with no distortion and is transparent. The center stone is decorated with a total of 66 prong set round brilliant cut diamonds with a total weight of 1.16ct and are graded in setting showing a clarity of SI1-SI2 and a color gradient E-G. Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. Tanzantite is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with AIG(American International Gemologists, a GIA certified lab AIG Appraisal Number#: 000717048068) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $33,595.00. The ring size is US 7 1/2.
