The centerstone is a natural cushion modified brilliant cut tanzanite gemstone that measures 8.4 x 8.3mm with bluish violet color and a very good cut grade and a tyotal weight of 2.91 carats. The centerstone and double pave shoulders are decorated with a total of 40 round brilliant cut diamonds with measurements of 1.1 - 1.8mm and shows a VS2 - SI1 clarity and shows a coloration of F-G and a total weight of 0.60 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles).
