Included in this lot is a signed, original Carl Tolpo, Banff oil painting from 1965. Carl Tolpo was born in Ludington, Michigan in 1901. During the course of his career, he established his reputation as a portrait, genre, and landscape painter, as well as a portrait and figure sculptor. As a painter, his works in fine oil portraiture particularly include State portraits and landscape oil paintings of the western USA, mostly the Yellowstone Park region. His works are on display in the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This 1965 landscape painting portrays the reflections of the distant Rocky Mountains in the lake, surrounded by trees that are located in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. In the top right corner, this piece is signed "4-5pm 8-7-65 Banff" and in the bottom left corner Tolpo signed his name. The artwork measures 12" by 16".
