For your consideration is this original oil painting by Montana Artist, Carol Newbury. Carol Newbury Howe is a Montana artist known for her knowledge and love of the out doors and wildlife. She spent much of her early life in and around her fathers logging camp learning about wildlife. This painting shows a herd of wild horses running through a mountain meadow as a solitary black horse in the foreground looks on. Superimposed to the left of this scene is the bust (neck and head) of a black horse, presumably the horse in the foreground. The painting is signed, "Carol Newbury Howe" in the lower left corner. The painting and frame are in good overall condition. It measures 44" x 40".
