This is an original G.C. Wentworth clay sculpture titled "Arab on Camel". Gerry Wentworth was a Great Falls, Montana artist who grew up in the era just after Charles Russell's life. He was largely self taught and spent the majority of his life working in painting, sculpture and wood carving. Wentworth's works have been widely exhibited in such places as the C.M. Russell Show, the Phippen Art Show and the Frank Tenney Johnson Show. In 1981, he won Best of Show at the Northwest Americana Art Show. This sculpture shows an Arabian man holding a rifle and riding a camel. The piece shows fantastic detail. The sculpture is in good overall condition. The clay does show minor cracking due to shrinkage as shown. The piece measures 8" x 16.5" and is 18" tall. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and the rights to have the piece cast if the owner so chooses.
