This is an original Joseph Henry Sharp (1859-1952) framed etching titled "Camp on the Little Bighorn". J.H. Sharp was an American artist and founding member of the Taos Society of Artists. He is best known for his Native American Indian portraits and Western landscapes. Among his many accomplishments, President Theodore Roosevelt commissioned him to paint 200 portraits of the Indian warriors who survived the Battle of the Little Bighorn. This etching shows a scene of a Native American Indian camp on the bank of the Little Bighorn River. It has been signed in the plate "J.H. Sharp". and is marked below the image "Camp on the Little Bighorn 103/227". The etching shows very good condition and has been professionally matted and framed. The image size is 3.5" x 5.25" and the frame measures 11.5" x 14.5".
