For your consideration is an original Lyle Johnson signed and numbered bronze, "The Malamute". Born in Northeast Utah to a pioneer family on the Ute Reservation, loved the outdoors and wildlife. He discovered a love for creating wildlife figures from modeling clay when he was ten. The artist now resides in Pryor, Montana where he is still creating fine art. This bronze is of a beautiful Alaskan Malamute, Malamutes were originally bred for their strength and endurance to haul heavy freight as a sled dog. The nicely detailed bronze shows a muscular Malamute standing with eyes and ears alert. The bronze is signed, dated and numbered by the artist. It was made in 1986 and is 2/ 15. The bronze itself is in very good condition, though it is missing the original wood base. The bronze measures about 9 1/2"L x 3 3/4"W x 10 1/2"T.
