Featured in this lot are three original photos of Native American women and families from the late 1890s to early 1900s. The first photo in this lot shows an original cabinet card photo of Mrs. Katie Haag-Hawkins, daughter of Euro-American Frederick Haag & Southern Cheyenne woman known as Digger. She is sitting in a studio setting and wears a trade blanket around her shoulders as she slightly smiles towards the camera. The second photo shows a group of women on horse back in a field. They are all wearing black dresses and black hats. The photo was taken by W.H. DeGraff and is marked on the bottom reading, "W.H. DeGraff / Dakota Bl'k / Main St. / Bismarck, N.D.". The third and final photo shows a family of five Native Americans posing for a studio photo in the Smith & Wilkins Studio in Park Rapids, Minnesota. The mother and father are sitting in chairs and holding the youngest kids, a boy and a girl, while the oldest stands behind all of them. The bottom is blind stamped and reads, "Smith & Wilkins / Park Rapids, Minn.". The photos show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. The photos measure from 7 3/8" L x 5 1/8" W to 6 1/2" L x 4 1/4" W. They have a collective weight of under 6 ounces.
