For your consideration are two original backyard oil paintings by Tom Waugh, 1978. Tom Waugh is a very well-known and collected Western Americana artist whose works have sold at auctions and shows, such as the Scottsdale Art Auction, Russell Auction, and the San Francisco Art Auction. His works are represented in collections and museums, such as the Devil's Tower Museum, Sheridan Museum, Yellowstone Historical Museum, and more. Tom has had his art represented and displayed in galleries in Santa Fe Taos. Tom is a self-taught artist who has been showing his works for 25+ years. The first work of art is an oil-on-board that is titled "A Study of Trees Behind My House"; it shows a field of evergreen trees that leads to a larger forest. The story of the work written on the back says, "total failure: go to work in the sawmill, you are not a painter, you stupid drunk. Delusional drunk f$@k, Tom Waugh." This piece shows vivid color and detailed brush strokes and measures 16"x12". The second piece in this lot is an oil-on-canvas titled "Behind My House," 1989. This piece shows thick oil brush strokes and earthy yellow, greens, orange, and brown colors of a field surrounded by trees. This piece is signed in the bottom right corner by the artist and measures 16" x 20." Both pieces are in good condition, overall.
