Offered in this lot is a 1976 working proof of “The Wizard Of Id Comic” by Brant Parker and Johnny Hart. This proof shows where wording had been edited in the dialog bubbles for the characters. In this strip, the King asks for a report on the kingdom and gets the report of a "den of iniquity". The king says, “Let it go, by the time I kick the bucket they will be so full down-there they have to send him up-stairs.” The Wizard of Id was a daily newspaper comic strip created by American cartoonists, Brant Parker and Johnny Hart. Beginning November 16, 1964, the strip follows the antics of a large cast of characters in a shabby medieval kingdom, called "Id". The title is a play on The Wizard of Oz, combined with the Freudian psychological term Id, which represents the instinctive and primal part of the human psyche. The strip is matted and framed. The art showing is 19" X 13 1/2" and the frame measures 25" X 18 1/2".
