Presented in this lot is an Original Signed Impasto Oil Painting, by Robert Reynolds. The first thing to know about Reynolds' landscape works is that they possess a tactile quality characterized by thick paint applied with energetic brush strokes and palette knives; impasto painting. He has a passion for the landscapes of the Southwest and enjoys taking his oils to sites along the River Chama, Vallecitos, or the Gorge of the Rio Grande to capture their rugged beauty through seasonal change. He paints most often en Plein Air, preferring to capture the natural light in his art. “I hope to convey a sense of my passion for the landscape, the feeling of sunshine, the wind and the energy that fills the earth, the sky and me. I find it beautiful, powerful and mysterious – In this way painting becomes a way to try to understand the magic of the landscape” – Robert Reynolds. Reynolds has presented his work in exhibits around the world in cities including: New Delhi, Soul, Hanover, Bangkok, Tokyo, Denver, New York, Taos, and Santa Fe. This original impasto oil painting is in extremely fine condition, no marring noted. The Southwest style knotty wood frame is in good overall condition, minimal scuffing noted to the edges, no other obvious marring noted. Visual art measures 10.5"W x 13.5"L, frame is 15.25"W x 18.25"L
