For your consideration is an Original Signed watercolor, "Hell Roaring Creek" by Rong Xu Long. Rong Xu Long, listed as a notable artist by Marquis Who's Who, was a Visiting Scholar at Montana State University, Bozeman, from 1986-1989. Recipient Grumbache Award and medallion Northwest Watercolor Society, Seattle, 1990, First Place, Puget Sound Northwest Painters Group, Seattle, 1992, 95, Donald Johnston Memorial Arts Competition, Seattle, 1991-1994, Urban League Show, Seattle, 1991. Deputy director Chinese Programs Asia Pacific Cultural Center, Seattle, 1999. Member China Artists Association, Puget Sound Northwest Painters Group. Hell Roaring Creek is a fast-running creek in Southwest Montana.The creek flows from Brower's Spring, which is considered the ultimate source of the Missouri River. Hell Roaring Creek which flows through Hell Roaring Canyon, is the most distant point in the Mississippi River system and, combined with its downstream rivers, marks the starting point of the fourth longest river in the world.
This original watercolor is in excellent condition. The triple-matted rose colour stained wood frame is in good overall condition, no obvious marring noted. Visible art measures 20.75"W x 15.5"H, frame is 24"H x 29.5"W
