For your consideration, is this original framed Albert Schlechten photograph of Ram's Horn Lake looking north toward Fortress Mountain in the Gallatin Range of Southwest Montana. A paper from the Schlechten Studio, dated 1/19/75, dates the photograph to pre-1910 with handcoloring done in the 1930s-1940s. It further states that the photograph is a "contact print from the original 11x14 glass plate negative". The Schlechten brothers, Albert and Alfred, were originally from Switzerland; they opened a photography studio in Bozeman in 1900, were noted for their photographs of Gallatin County, Bozeman, and Yellowstone National Park. This photograph, taken over 100 years ago, is an intriguing window into a quieter past of the now familiar and heavily travelled Gallatin Canyon. The framed photograph shows good condition, rear paper attached to the wood frame is torn in multiple areas, measures 15"L x 11.75"W
