For your consideration are two, original oil on boards seascapes done by Montana artist Paul Krapf in the late 1960s to 1980s. Paul Krapf (1927-2019) was a wildlife and landscape artist from Gardiner, Montana at the southern end of the beautiful Paradise Valley north of majestic Yellowstone National Park. His house and studio were built along the Yellowstone River 11 miles north of the park. The inhabitants of Yellowstone National Park were his frequent subjects. He also produced coastal views, especially Oregon’s, as well as Western scenes and landscapes. The first and smaller in this lot shows a cliff side, beach scene as waves crash into the shore and the side of the cliff face. The sun reflects off the water, shimmering in the center of the piece. It is signed in the bottom right hand corner reading, "Krapf". The second and larger piece shows a landscape scene of the beach with large, curling waves crashing onto the rocky shore. The waves are chaotic and messy and show a greenish color. An overcast sky hands overhead and cast a gray tint over the scene. It is signed in the bottom right hand corner reading, "Krapf '70". They show good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage noted. The smaller one measures 18" L x 24" W, while the larger one measures 18" L x 40" W. They have a collective weight of 3 pounds and 8 ounces
