This is an original watercolor painting by Crow Native American Indian artist Leland Stewart in his iconic horseback warrior design. Leland Stewart, a Montana native, is a member of the Crow Nation, Whistling Water Clan and the High Hawk Society. He graduated from the Institute of the American Indian Arts in 1975. Stewart's artwork is featured in in Montana fine art galleries and beyond. This painting shows a War party of Crow Warriors all on horseback (a total of 17 warriors) on the high ground. The painting also shows a geometric “blanket strip” like designs with a bird effigy design. The piece exhibits Stewart’s unique style of bright, vivid colors and personal interpretation of his Native American Indian heritage.
