Included in this lot we have an original watercolor painting by Crow Native American Indian artist Leland Stewart. Stewart is a member of the Crow Nation, Whistling Water Clan and the High Hawk Society. He graduated from the Institute of the American Indian Arts in 1975. Stewart's artwork is featured in in Montana fine art galleries and beyond. Many of Stewart’s works can be found at the Sam Terakedis Fine Art & Jewelry Gallery. Some examples of his art have been priced at $6,200 for Two Sisters in the Bear Paws, $5,500 for Uncle Buffalo, and $6,000 for The Visitor. This painting shows a band of eight warriors riding painted horses. Each of the warriors is shown holding a spear with a painted shield attached to the saddle and a unstrung bow and arrows. The piece shows a colorful river running across the bottom. The painting exhibits Stewart's unique style of bright, vivid colors and personal interpretation. The piece is signed in the lower right corner "Leland W. Stewart 2020". The watercolor shows very good condition overall and measures 40" wide by 21 1/2" tall.
