Featured in this lot is this Pacific Northwest humanoid Kwakwaka’wakw mask, circa early-to-mid 1900's. The mask features a hardwood construction with a naturally dyed face of red, white, and blue ochre and black throughout. The mask is of a humanoid Kwakwaka'wakw peoples and features traditional decoration of geometric patterns and facial features that merge to create this work of art. The Kwakwa_ka_'wakw, also known as the Kwakiutl, are Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast. The condition of this mask is good, with some wear to the natural dye on the mask. The measurements of this mask are 13" x 7 1/2" x 3 1/2".
