For your consideration is this late 1900s / early 2000s Plains painted rawhide footed drum. This rawhide drum shows a lovely construction and a detailed painting on the front of the drum. It shows colors of purple, blue, red, white and black with geometric patterns, tow sets of two eagle feathers and a bear paw print set in the center. The drum is tight and gives a nice resonance when struck with the hand or drum stick. No makers mark or artist signature is present. The drum shows good condition overall with little to no wear present. One very small area of cracked paint. No signs of damage noted. It measures 12 1/8" L x 12 1/8" W x 2 1/4" H and weighs 14 ounces.
