For your bidding pleasure are these Pair of Mallard Drakes & Hen Decoys by Gus Nelow. The first of the three Mallard decoys is the largest showing realistic coloring for a drake Mallard, however it also shows the most wear from use and age. The next Mallard decoy is a drake with great coloration and decoration although different in color to the wings, and tail feathers than the larger drake decoy. The hen Mallard decoy is the last with the most solid of brown coloration, hinted with beige outlines to its feathers. The mallard is a dabbling duck that breeds throughout the temperate and subtropical Americas, Eurasia, and North Africa and has been introduced to New Zealand, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Falkland Islands, and South Africa. Gus Nelow was a prolific carver and it is estimated that he made more decoys than anyone in the Omro/Oshkosh/Lake Winnebago area. Nelow made these decoys in 1978. The measurements of these decoys are listed in order of description: 17" x 5 1/2" x 7" 16" x 5" x 7" 17" x 6" x 5"
