Featured in this lot is this Papago Indians hand woven basket circa 1950's. The basket features a wonderfully and professionally crafted Devil's Claw with a willow core and shows polychrome coloration to the side walling of the basket in rectangular geometric patterns. Papago (Tohono O'odham) basket weavers are renowned for their skillful and intricate weaving techniques, which reflect their deep cultural traditions and connection to the natural world. The condition of this basket is is good with some discoloration to the weaving and fading to the natural dye of the coloration of the basket but otherwise shows a good overall condition. The measurements of this basket is 2 1/2" x 7 1/4" x 7 1/4". The collective weight of this basket is U6oz.
