Featured in this lot is this Papago Indians hand woven lidded trinket box. The trinket box shows wonderfully crafted design with naturally dyed geometric patterns and a braided string strung through the lid of basket and into the top of the side walling of the basket. The Tohono O'odham are a Native American people of the Sonoran Desert, residing primarily in the U.S. state of Arizona and the Mexican state of Sonora. Tohono O'odham means "Desert People". The federally recognized tribe is known as the Tohono O'odham Nation. The condition of this lidded basket is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this trinket box are 4 1/4" x 4" x 4".
