Featured in this lot is this Pendleton Chief Joseph, Beaver State wool, Native American Indian blanket, first woven in the 1920s. Chief Joseph led the Nez Perce tribe native to northeastern Oregon in the late 1800s. Widely admired for protecting his people and speaking the truth, he is honored with this design, symbolizing bravery. Bold arrowheads represent the chief's courage, strength, and integrity. Woven in Pendleton's Pacific Northwest mills and softly napped. The rug features a classic Chief Joseph pattern that shows a green field and bands of blue, red, orange, light orange, and yellow; the rug shows geometric patterns in black throughout the rug. The condition of this rug is good and in pristine condition with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this rug are 65" x 39".
