For your consideration is this rare first edition, two volume set of "The Personal Memoirs of P.H. Sheridan," a 19th Century United States Army General. The book was published by Charles L. Webster & Company New York 1888 and press of Jenkins & McCowan. The books are both rare first editions, 1888 dated and printed; the lot includes the complete set with both Volume I & Volume II. Both books have gilded pages and spine label. The books have a vast wealth of information on the Civil War, specifically Sheridan’s insights on the subject. Each volume contains different rare, steel engraved portraits of Sheridan as front pieces and several maps of Civil War campaigns and of the Indian Campaign of 1868-69. The books are in good condition, with a tight spine on volume one and some wear on volume two. Both covers show sign of wear, but are in good overall condition for their age. Each book is 6.5” x 9.25” x 1 5/8” thick.
