Offered in this lot are six (6) Volumes of P. F. Collier and Son's "Authorized Edition" of Mark Twain's works, circa 1928, P. F. Collier and Son Company, New York, publisher. The collection includes "Life On The Mississippi", "A Connecticut Yankee", "Huckleberry Finn", "The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer", "The Prince And The Pauper", "Pudd'nhead Wilson". In 1921, Harper and Brothers publishing company sold off their subscription business to Collier and with it came Mark Twain's "Author's National Edition" of his works. The Collier green cloth binding is almost indistinguishable from the green cloth Harper and Brothers Author's National Edition except that the name "Collier" appears on the bottom of the spine. The Collier cloth bindings are stamped to appear like leather. The Collier green cloth binding of the Authorized Edition was likely issued in 1928. The green cloth bound gold gilt stamped hardcover books are in very nice preserved condition, very slight scuffing noted. Intact pages exhibit age tanning. Each measures 5.25"W x 7.5"L x 1.25"D, combined weight 5lb, 10oz.
