Included in this lot is an original signed Phyllis Featherstone Brooks oil on canvass painting, circa late 20th C. The subject is a desert valley scene with saguaro cacti featured prominently above the sprawling desert floor filled with desert sage, bur sage, creosote bush and juniper. The background features a prominent mountain flanked by mesas, the pale blue sky dominated by altocumulus and cirrus clouds passing by. Brooks is a well listed artist and instructor in the Alexandria Virginia area with numerous awards and exhibitions. The painting is in good condition with a slight scratch mid canvas in the sky, artist's is on the lower right . Hand carved painted wood frame is in good condition with slight scuffing noted, matting shows stains most likely from paint stain bleeding over time. Overall, this piece is in good condition.
