Offered for sale is this Plains Indian Buffalo Hide coat that would have been worn by a Shoshone Scout. The coat shows handmade construction from tanned buffalo hide with fur on the inside for comfort and warmth. The coat has stitched fur-lined pockets and a fur collar. The coat is adorned with a loom-beaded waist belt and hand wrought coin silver/ copper buttons. The coat has a great overall look to it with the beautiful, soft buffalo fur inside. Age of coat is unknown, though it appears to be quite old, as condition is rather rough. The hide is dried and not supple and the right sleeve is mostly gone.
