In this lot is a Plains Indian style war club with a stone head, deer bone and hide handle, and decorative feather. The handle is made from the lower part of a large deer leg bone and hide. The piece has a braided loop of deer hide at the end of the handle and is adorned with a feather and bead tied tassel halfway. The leg bone is split to fit around the stone and the fascia of the leg is pulled down to wrap the stone to the leg. The piece is 18" long (23" with the loop) with the stone head being approximately 6 1/2" x 4." x 3”.
