The lot features a large bowie knife and Plains Indian pattern quilled parfleche sheath. The sheath shows a parfleche lining with Buffalo rawhide covered outside that shows porcupine quill work in red, white and black / brown. The sheath shows a fancy fringed edge with rolled tine jingle cones bearing red dyed horse hair. The sheath also shows a red ocher mineral painted accent. The knife is marked "Russell Green River Works" and shows a two piece walnut grip with brass hilt and spots. The knife has a large bowie knife pattern and shows a dark patina, which appears to be a later addition. The age of either the sheath or knife is unknown, please inspect the pictures for origin and age. The knife measures 14.25"L with a 9.25" blade. The sheath is 12.75"L x 3.5"W with an additional 4"L fringe.
