Featured in this lot is this Pre Columbian grooved axe head & pestal circa 10000-4500BC. There are two artifacts in this collection. The first is a axe head with a full groove and a sharp edge face inside the groove giving it a bearded look and a rounded back. The second artifact is a handled pestal that shows a rounded cone appearance with a handled groove before the grinding pad of the pestal. The condition of this pair of Pre-Columbian artifacts is preserved with some wear to the axe head and chipping to the groove but the pestal shows a porous surface but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of this axe head and pestal is 4 5/8" x 2 3/4" x 1 1/2". The collective 1lb 14oz.
