Featured in this lot is this original, hand tinted photo of Tow Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park, taken by Ray Elmer Marble circa 1910-1920s. Ray Elmer Marble (Montana, 1883-1938) was an iconic Montana photographer who had a studio in Belton, Montana and Whitefish, Montana and was hired by the Great Northern Railway to take scenic pictures of Glacier National Park for its railroad brochures until 1924. Renowned for his striking photographs of Glacier National Park, photographer, Marble's works is highly sought by collectors. This hand tinted photo shows Rising Wolf Mountain in the background, over looking Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park. Two Medicine Lake is located in Glacier National Park, in the U. S. state of Montana. It is approximately 2 miles long and .33 miles wide. Sinopah Mountain dominates the western terminus of the lake, while immediately to the north, Rising Wolf Mountain rises over 4,450 feet above the lake. The photo is stamped in the bottom right hand corner reading, "© R.E. Marble Glacier Park". It is glued to two pieces of paper and set in a wood frame. The photo measures 9 7/8" L x 6 1/4" W, while the entire piece measures 13 3/4" L x 11 3/4" W x 7/8" D. It weighs 1 pound and 10 ounces.
