This is an original photograph of Lake McDonald In Glacier National Park circa 1920's by R.E. Marble (1883-1938). This is a rare collectible piece marked on the photo in the lower right hand corner of the photograph reads Copyright, R. E. Marble, Glacier Park. (Montana, MT). This photo was taken while he was in Whitefish, MT and is in its original frame. The Great Northern Railway hired photographer Marble to take scenic pictures of Glacier National Park for its railroad brochures until 1924. He did not return to photograph Glacier again until 1932. Six years after his return, he died of a heart attack. Renowned for his striking photographs of Glacier National Park, photographer, Marble's works is highly sought by collectors. The visible portion of the photo measures 10 1/4" x 6". The frame measures 10 7/8" x 6 7/8". The frame has minor wear but the photograph appears to be in good condition.
