Featured in this lot is a R. H. Ruana Grand, stag horn custom bowie knife. This knife was made by the grandson of prestigious knife maker Rudy Rauna. Rudy Ruana began making custom knives in the 1930's. His business has been family owned from the beginning and is still in operation today in Bonner, Montana. Ruana knives are highly regarded and sought after by knife collectors and enthusiasts. This knife displays a wonderful, polished bowie knife blade with a hammered band of brass across the back of the blade. The blade is marked "R H R Grand" across the side of the blade. The guard displays brass construction. The grip features stag horn construction with brass, bone, and wood spacers. The knife comes with a custom leather sheath with a stamp mark reading, "R.H.R. Grand". The piece shows wonderful condition overall. The knife measures 15" long with the blade being 10" long.
