R.E. Todhunter was an American illustrator active in the early to mid-20th century, best known for his finely detailed lithographs of birds and natural scenes. His work often appeared in books, prints, and calendars, capturing the beauty of wildlife with scientific precision and artistic flair. While most of his known pieces focus on ornithological subjects, some sources and collectors also attribute Western-themed scenes to him, though these are harder to verify. Todhunter’s illustrations reflect a careful balance between realism and decorative composition, making his work popular among nature enthusiasts and vintage art collectors alike.
