The lot features a set of spurs bought from Hamley Saddlery in Pendleton, Oregon in 1948 in the exact pattern of a Raphael (Filo) Gutierrez spurs. The set shows a double diamond pattern, scalloped heelbands, multiple domes and deep stylish engravings with swinging buttons and wonderful larger rowels with feathered tips. The spurs have a silver and copper coloring with nickel rowels. The spurs were purchased from Hamley Saddlery in Pendleton, Oregon as an anniversary present in 1948. These spurs are in the exact pattern of the Gutierrez Spurs sold by New Frontier Western Show & Auction in their July 2020 sale
(picture in photo gallery for reference). The spurs are not marked. Each has a basketweave and floral tooled spur straps. The spurs are metal with a silver colored overlay and copper adornments. Likely by the same hand or shop as the Gutierrez spurs, but not marked. Each spur measures 9-inches long from the rowel to back of the spur straps by 4.5-inches wide.
