Offered in this lot is a very rare 1901 first edition book by Buffalo Bill Cody. The book bears the title of 'History of the Wild West and stories of Pioneer Life' on the cover and the title of 'Story of the Wild West and Camp Fire Chats' on the inside page. The book was written by Buffalo Bill Cody and printed in 1901 by John R. Stanton Co. of Chicago. Most editions of this book are published by Stanton and Van Vilet Co. and have a title page with the same title as the cover that then credits the book to D. M. Kelsey. The book has stories about the lives of iconic western figures Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, Kit Carson, and Buffalo Bill himself, along with some stories about lesser-known pioneers. The book shows numerous sketches and illustrations. The book has a red cloth cover with black embossing on the spine and cover, as well as a picture of Buffalo Bill Cody on horseback on the cover. The book is in very good condition overall, with some minor wear due to age and use. It measures 8" tall by 6" wide and 1 1/4" thick.
