This is a very rare GIA certified Brazilian Paraiba Tourmaline with Mica showing a massive 34.57 carats set in platinum with diamonds. The Paraiba Tourmaline is the rarest of all Tourmalines with many examples selling for tens of thousands per carat. First discovered in 1988 in Paraiba, Brazil the Paraiba Tourmaline was immediately highly sought after due to the intense coloring due to copper, manganese and bismuth eventually selling for over $20,000 per carat. The piece shows a cabochon half-moon polished with zoned Green-Blue and Purplish Pink coloring wit translucent transparency and is considered Tourmaline with Mica. The piece is set in solid white PT950 platinum which is stepped halo bezel set with 123 round brilliant natural Diamonds having a weight of 1.00 carats showing a clarity SI1 to I1 with a color of F-H. The piece comes with an AIG (American International Gemologists, a GIA certified gemologist AIG# 000719190002) report which confirms the above information and gives a value of $33,750.00. The piece weights 29.70 grams and is on a platinum link chain necklace which is 18 inches in length.
